Waiver Wire: Final-week tweaks

It is time to stream players in the final week.
Mike Morse (1B/OF, WAS): 5 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues
Morse quietly has put up some good numbers. He is batting .302 (19-for-63) with 12 runs, three home runs, and 11 RBIs. Morse is hitting .300 with 34 runs, 13 home runs, and 38 RBIs in 240 at-bats.
Edinson Volquez(notes) (SP, CIN): 18 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues
A lot of people must have given up on the season if Volquez is available in this many leagues. Since returning from a brief stint in the minors, he has been excellent. Volquez has a 1.66 ERA and 0.78 WHIP in three starts and in 21 2/3 innings, he has allowed 10 hits, walked seven, and struck out 23.
Evan Meek(notes) (RP, PIT): 20 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues
The Pirates said they wanted to give Meek some save opportunities down the stretch and Meek has converted saves in his last two appearances. Outside of an awful August, Meek has been excellent, and allowed just one earned run in 7 2/3 innings this month. Meek has a 2.01 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and a 63/28 K/BB ratio in 63 innings.
Madison Bumgarner(notes) (SP, SF): 29 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Bumgarner has been terrific in his last five outings. Even though he is 1-2 in that time, he has pitched better. In 33 innings, he has allowed 29 hits, four earned runs, six walks, and struck out 27.
Will Venable(notes) (OF, SD): 9 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Venable is very streaky but has some power and speed. Venable has been hot this month and has four home runs, 18 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases in 151 at-bats since the All-Star break. Venable is batting .375 (21-for-56) with 10 runs, one home run, five RBIs, and one stolen base in September.
Chris Sale(notes) (RP, CHW): 8 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Sale could see some save chances in the final week. In 18 1/3 innings, he has allowed 11 hits, walked 10, and struck out 24. He has a 1.47 ERA and 1.15 WHIP.
Craig Breslow(notes) (RP, OAK): 3 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
With Andrew Bailey(notes) out for the season, Breslow might get some chances to close games. He picked up a save Monday and hasn’t allowed a run over his last 8 1/3 innings. Breslow has a 3.12 ERA and a 67/26 K/BB ratio in 69 1/3 innings.
Michael Wuertz(notes) (RP, OAK): 20 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Wuertz has been day-to-day with a sore right thumb, but he’s in line for some ninth-inning work when he returns. Wuertz has been excellent since the All-Star break with a 3.00 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. In 21 innings, he has allowed 14 hits, 10 walks, and struck out 26.
Carlos Gomez(notes) (OF, MIL): 4 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
If you’re in a tight race for stolen bases, give Gomez a look. He has five stolen bases in 30 at-bats this month and is batting .333 (10-for-30).
Melvin Mora(notes) (1B/2B/3B, COL): 6 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Mora has been hot in September, batting .316 (24-fior-76) with nine runs, two home runs, and 13 RBIs.
Carlos Carrasco(notes) (SP, CLE): 2 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Carrasco has produced a quality start in each of his five games since being recalled. In 32 2/3 innings, he has allowed 31 hits, walked 10, and struck out 24 with a 3.03 ERA and 1.26 WHIP.

Jhoulys Chacin(notes) (SP, COL): 32 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Since the All-Star break, Chacin has pitched well and has helped the Rockies stay in the pennant race. Chacin has a 2.05 ERA and 1.24 WHIP and in 48 1/3 innings, he has allowed 20 hits, walked 20, and struck out 43.
Bud Norris(notes) (SP, HOU): 15 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Norris is 7-2 since the All-Star break with a 3.95 ERA and a 77/36 K/BB ratio in 79 2/3 innings. In September, he is 3-0 with a 3.28 ERA and has struck out 25 in 24 2/3 innings.
Brayan Pena(notes) (C, KC): 5 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Getting a catcher to help in average is always a plus. Pena is batting .382 (21-for-55) with seven runs, one home run, and 11 RBIs in September.
Dan Johnson(notes) (1B, T
: 2 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
If you’re in a daily league, consider Johnson, who is batting .306 (11-for-36) with eight runs, five home runs, and 10 RBIs this month.
Jarrod Dyson(notes) (OF, KC): 1 percent owned in Yahoo! Leagues
Dyson can give you a boost if you need stolen bases. He has five stolen bases in 27 at-bats and is hitting .296.
